The ArmourShield High Security Cylinder Guard is designed as an upgrade product for our Adapta Prime euro profile lock cylinders when being fitted to our Cobra and Thunderbolt ranges of multi-point locks. Housed within the fabric of the door, the ArmourShield shrouds the cylinder to protect it from attack by crowbars and grips etc. 2 Star rated to TS 007:2014, the guard can be used with any 1 Star rated cylinder to provide full 3 Star security when using unrated furniture. Discreetly concealed beneath the handle backplate, the guard is suitable for use with the vast majority of our multi-point compatible handle sets to provide finish and design continuity between internal and external doors. This cylinder guard has been included as part of a complete door set successfully tested to PAS 24 and is an approved Secured by Design product.
Suitable for double cylinders or thumbturn cylinders and available in two sizes to accommodate different door thicknesses and cylinder lengths.
Select Size A for cylinders with an external measurement of up to 45mm (measured to the centre line). Select Size B for cylinders with an external measurement of over 45mm.
When fitting handle backplates that are flat on the underside, the cylinder guard must not project from the door face. Therefore, the minimum door thickness under these circumstances is 54mm with locks fitted centrally. Thinner doors can be accommodated by fitting handle backplates with a void space on the underside.
Keep joinery tolerances to a minimum when fitting to ensure handle backplates are able to fully cover the door cut-out. Backplates should have a minimum width of 26mm and a minimum measurement of 45mm from the cylinder keyway centre to the centre of the bottom fixing position - please refer to the technical drawings above.
This cylinder guard is designed for use with our Cobra and Thunderbolt range of multi-point locks only.
This product has been successfully type tested for conformity to the requirements of TS 007:2014 + A1:2015 and has acheived a 2 Star rating.
Fire rating is only applicable to this product when fitted to timber based door assemblies of proven fire resistance as defined in BS EN1634-1 or BS476 Part 22:1987 and when used with suitably rated locks and cylinders.
