A very popular Tubular Mortice Latch for light duty residential applications. Suitable for self-sprung lever handle door furniture and smaller door knobs and is non-handed for ease of fixing. The light sprung, two-way action is ideal for door knobs as it allows the knobs to be operated with ease and in both directions. However, the 58mm backset measurement is generally suitable for knobs up to 50mm dia only. For larger knob sizes we recommend latches with a longer backset measurement to avoid rapping your knuckles against the door frame. Lever handle furniture should be of a type with integral springing in the rose or backplate. For best results and long life, this latch should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year.
