A superior quality, British made Horizontal Mortice Lock and an excellent choice for both high quality residential and heavy use commercial applications. Particularly suitable for door knobs and ring handle furniture due to the long backset measurement and light sprung two-way action. 3 Lever mechanism for medium security internal doors or on external doors where higher security is not required. This lock has traditional case dimensions similar to many older patterns so it can normally be used as a direct replacement with little or no additional joinery work or making good required. Reversible on site to suit left or right hand hung doors and can be fitted to fire rated timber door sets in accordance with current regulations.
The long backset measurement allows fixing of door knobs away from the door edge which is a traditional feature on the mid rail of panelled doors. In addition, the light sprung, two-way action allows knobs to be operated with ease and in both directions. If possible use knobs or handles with horizontal bolt through fixings to avoid fixing screws fouling the latch case.
Rebate conversion sets to enable fitting of this lock to double doors with rebated meeting stiles are available to special order - please contact us for details.
