This high quality British made Mortice Nightlatch (slam lock) can be fitted as an alternative to more common surface mounted "Yale" type locks to provide automatic locking on main entrance doors. The latchbolt is withdrawn externally by key (using either a single cylinder or double cylinder) and by turn knob or lever handle internally. The lock is 'Dual Profile' to accept Euro Profile or UK Oval Profile cylinders without modification. The latchbolt may be held back in the withdrawn position by a reverse turn of the key. The lock features an anti-thrust bolt to prevent manipulation of the latch bolt by credit card etc. CE/UKCE certified and fully compliant for use on FD30/FD60 fire rated timber door sets when used with appropriate intumescent material. This lock can be used with a 'single' cylinder (key one side only) or a 'double' cylinder (key both sides). The use of key & thumbturn cylinders is NOT recommended.
This lock is supplied standard sprung only for 'self-sprung' lever handle furniture.
This mortice nightlatch is suitable for FD30/FD60 rated doors in high-use settings. For full compliance on fire doors, this lock MUST be fitted with appropriate intumescent material on both door and frame.

To keep this mortice lock in optimum working condition we recommend a once yearly application of light machine oil (3 in 1). Wipe clean with an oil impregnated cloth.
