Residential Use Commercial Use

An 80mm (40mm/40mm) Euro Profile Key and Thumbturn Cylinder Lock Barrel suitable for applications where key locking/unlocking is required externally with thumbturn operation internally. Part of our Adapta J79 5 pin open profile cylinder range and ideal for medium security applications in residential and commercial settings where higher security cylinders are not required. This version is supplied "Master Keyed" - please refer to the information under the "Keying" tab above.

Use only with lock cases and multipoint locks described as "euro profile", "DIN euro" or "dual profile".

For locks fitted centrally, the minimum cylinder length required is calculated by adding the door thickness to the thickness of escutcheons or handle backplates. Cylinders should ideally be flush with, or protrude no more than 3mm/5mm from, the face of escutcheons or furniture backplates. Where locks are fitted off centre the minimum cylinder length should be calculated for each side individually by measuring from out from the lock centre line. Again, don't forget to add the thickness of escutcheons or backplates.

Detailed advice on the selection of euro profile cylinder lock barrels can be found in our [Euro Profile Lock Cylinders Specification Guide]

For best results and long life, this cylinder lock barrel should be lubricated with a specialist lock spray or good quality graphite powder. Do NOT use oils or WD40.

These cylinder lock barrels are supplied suited "Under Master Key" whereby groups of cylinders are operable by their individual keys AND by a master key that operates all of the cylinders within the group. This option is often specified for commercial projects as it allows keys to be issued on a hierarchical basis. This feature is available for all of our Adapta J79 cylinders so your group can contain any combination of the cylinder types, sizes and finishes within the range.

Cylinder lock barrels ordered master keyed will be supplied in one straight suited group. For systems requiring grand master and sub-master groupings, or for more complicated key control systems please contact us prior placing your order.
