Manufactured in Britain from quality materials for over 100 years, this heavy pattern steel Rim Lock is an ideal choice for the simple locking of internal or external doors where higher security locks are not required. Finished in Dull Black, the lock can be used with any compatible rim knob furniture set.
An ideal companion for any of our Berlin Black knob sets when an austere, municipal look is desired or use with our unlacquered brass Cottage Knob furniture on ledged and braced doors.
This rim lock is handed Left or Right and care should be taken to select the correct hand when ordering - please refer to the technical handing image above (lock image is shown Left Hand). All of our rim locks and latches are designed for surface fitting to the opening face of doors (pull side). They are NOT suitable for fitting to the closing face (push side).
This lock MUST be fitted with door knobs that are specifically designed for use with rim locks and latches. These will generally be described as being "Rim" pattern. NOT suitable for use with "Mortice" pattern knob sets or lever type door handles.
For best results and long life, this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year.
One rim lock complete with 2 keys, frame keep and traditional roundhead slotted fixing screws for wood in matching finish.
