This 'Captive' Half Spindle is designed for use with mortice locks or latches that require handle or knob operation from one side only. The pivoting anchor bar allows the spindle to be fixed securely to the lock spindle follower making it ideal for use with handles or knobs incorporating a grub-screw fixing. This version is generally suitable for door thicknesses from 55mm to 80mm (where locks are fitted centrally and where handle backplate thicknesses allow).
