Intumescent Liner Packs should be used when fitting locks and latches to fire rated timber doors. In the event of fire, the intumescent material expands to seal the door and frame around faceplates, strikeplates and handle spindles to prevent the ingress/egress of hot gases. This pre-cut intumescent liner pack is suitable for use with our 'UK Base' modular range of Upright Mortice Locks and Latches.
Important: ALL locks and latches certified as being suitable for use on fire doors will normally have been tested with the inclusion of intumescent material positioned behind the faceplate and strikeplate and on the lock/latch body (this will be stated on product test certificates). Where this is the case intumescent material of the correct type MUST be fitted to ensure full compliance with the relevant standard.
This intumescent liner pack is intended for use only with appropriate locks/latches that have been successfully type tested for conformity to all of the requirements of BS EN 1935 : 2002 including the additional requirements for fire/smoke door use.
