Forming part of our Optimum British Brass range this beautiful surface mounted Rim Lock features a classic flanged edge for an elegant, period look. Hand-crafted in Britain using time honoured techniques and only the finest materials, the solid cast brass case is fitted with individually made component parts to produce a lock that is exceptional in appearance, unrivalled in durability and premium in quality. This lock is an ideal choice for use with compatible rim knob furniture sets in luxury residential settings where higher security locks are not required.
Available in a range of specialist finishes to compliment both traditional and contemporary styles. Choose from Polished or Satin Brass Unlacquered, Antique Brass Unlacquered, Imperial Bronze Unlacquered (Dark Antique Bronze BMA), Satin Nickel or Polished Nickel.
This rim lock is handed Left or Right and care should be taken to select the correct hand when ordering - please refer to the technical handing image above (lock image is shown Right Hand). All of our rim locks and latches are designed for surface fitting to the opening face of doors (pull side). They are NOT suitable for fitting to the closing face (push side).
This lock MUST be fitted with door knobs that are specifically designed for use with rim locks and latches. These will generally be described as being "Rim" pattern. NOT suitable for use with "Mortice" pattern knob sets or lever type door handles.
For best results and long life, this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year.
