Tips: When fixing screws in to harder woods you should always pre-drill an adequate pilot hole. Where practicable, use a steel screw of the same size to create a guide thread prior to fitting the actual screws. A dab of petroleum jelly on the screw tip will aid driving in. When using power drivers use lower speed and torque settings to avoid damaging screw heads or, worse still, rippng heads off - we recommend using a hand driver for the last few turns.
