The Yale No. 1 has been a popular slam lock choice for front entrance doors for many decades and is ideal for glazed or panelled doors with standard stile widths. The latchbolt is withdrawn externally by key and internally by the knob handle while the snib catch allows the latchbolt to be held back to prevent accidental lock out. In addition, the latchbolt may be deadlocked by key via the external cylinder or inside handle. The lock is non-handed to suit left hand or right hand applications without modification.
Available in Grey Enamel finished case with external Polished Brass cylinder or full "Brasslux" case with external Polished Brass cylinder.
For best results and long life, the internal moving parts of this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year. The external and internal key cylinder will benefit from the application of a specialist lock spray or good quality graphite powder - do NOT use oils or WD40.
