Antique Black Iron (ABK)

The heyday of authentic Antique Black Iron products was during the Tudor Revival period and architecture of "Jacobethan" suburban properties of the early 1900s. Using manufacturing techniques that have remained unchanged since the mid 1800s, this stippled and slightly glossy black finish is achieved by the application of a two-part paint and powder-coat process to antique style malleable iron castings.

Suitable for both internal and external applications, the finish can be kept clean by occasional wiping over with an oiled rag to remove dirt and grime deposits. Moving parts will benefit from the application of a light machine oil (3 in 1). Products fitted in coastal areas will require greater care and regular cleaning to remove salt spray deposits.
