The Thunderbolt Multipoint Lock is an ideal solution for entrance doors and other external doors in domestic settings requiring a high security yet cost effective and versatile locking system. The chamfered twin deadbolts are designed to allow a high degree of fitting tolerence for door installation. In addition, the deadbolt shape provides low operating forces and helps doors achieve a higher level of weather performance. This version has a 'Split-Follower Slam Lock' function whereby the external and internal handles operate independently of each other.
- External Operation: Deadlocking is achieved by lifting the handle to throw the deadbolts followed by a full turn of the key. A reverse turn of the key will allow the handle to withdraw the deadbolts. Entry is then gained by an additional half turn of the key to withdraw the latchbolt.
- Internal Operation: Deadlocking is achieved by lifting the handle to throw the deadbolts followed by a full turn of the key/thumbturn. A reverse turn of the key/thumbturn will allow the handle to withdraw the deadbolts and latchbolt.
**Note that handles will require the addition of a 'Split Spindle' to allow for the correct function of the split-follower**
Important: These locks are handed for Left Hand (LH) hung or Right Hand (RH) hung inward opening doors - Please refer to the relevant technical image and make your selection from the drop down list above.
This lock is supplied WITHOUT centre strikeplate or bolt keeps. Suitable strike and keep sets can be found in the 'Related Items' section below.
Important: Winkhaus locks are finished with a corrosion resistant electroplating. However, care should be taken when fitting to highly acidic woods such as oak and accoya or in extreme coastal locations. Contact between the lock and bare timber should be avoided. Where possible, timber should be painted or varnished prior to fitting the lock especially under and around the faceplate. For best results we recommend the use of our 3 Part Corrosion Protection Kit.

For optimum security this lock should be fitted with a TS 007 3 Star cylinder (see our ULTION Maximum Security range).
Lever handle furniture MUST be of a type that allows the handle to be lifted. Handle backplates should be compatible with the lock centres measurement and fixing centres measurements. Please refer to the relevant technical drawings.
To keep this multi-point lock in optimum working condition we recommend a once yearly application of light machine oil (3 in 1) to all moving parts. Wipe clean with an oil impregnated cloth.
